I am dancing close to the lines of the storage limits of my current hosting provider, so I am casually looking for another hosting solution. I kinda have one picked out, I just have to suck up and do it…
That darn Dungeon Siege 2 really sucks up your time if you’re not careful. Thankfully I know how to use the space bar. :-) My next DS2 hurdle is the dragon at the top of Snowhaven Castle. I did have it saved, and then paused there (before I pause I always save) but my husband, thinking he’d save some energy (and he’s right, but why didn’t he let me know he was about to do this…) shut down the computer. YYAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!! At least I have it saved up to that point and frankly, I wasn’t doing so well with the ballista. Then I decided to RTFF (read the freaking FAQ) and found out how to work the ballista, and with whom. (For those of you who care, it’s with the floor-mounted gears to either side, and use your most heavily armored party member. Luckily I picked up Lothar early on and he’s pretty mountain-like at this stage.)
Now I’m debating on whether or not to pick up Rockband (1 and 2). But - to get the cool downloadable content (which happens to include Moving Pictures), I’d have to buy either the PS3, Xbox or Wii. Sorry, the Wii isn’t happening … although with my husband’s impending 50th it might not be a bad idea. But if I get the PS3 the PS2 controllers I already have should be compatible. Then again, I’ve mashed the heck out of the Gibson green key; it’s not responding like it should, I don’t think. I’m curious to see if I can handle a dual part (say, vocals and guitar) at once on Rockband. I do it informally with Guitar Hero (on medium, I must admit) and have actually topped previous 4- and 5-start scores. Maybe I should try using all 5 keys first, hm? One night back in May (after seeing Iron Man), I did get about 1/3 into YYZ purely sight-reading on the “Hard” level (I was provoked, I tell you!). So what’s to fear?
No, not by a vampire; enough with the Stephenie Meyer mindset. I was given Dungeon Siege 2 last weekend and finally installed it last night. Not bad … now let’s see if I have the patience to work through it.
As for the “Best In Fair” this past Monday, the baked goods did not fare well at all. My entry was 7th out of nine, and the “Best in Fair” went to a peach almond jam. Go figure. Let’s just say I now understand how Al Gore felt back in 2000. I’m sure mine would’ve won the popular vote, as everyone wanted a taste of the cake but I saw no line by the jam.
I was going to take a motorcycle ride up to Lake Placid this weekend but with total wipeout and exhaustion lurking just around the bend I decided against it. Too bad, too, because the weather looks awesome for it.
